My New Found Stress Reliever That Costs Next to Nothing!

Hi Everyone!  It has been a while since my last post.  I lost my sweet doggy of 15 years and needed some time to grieve and heal. But, I’m back and am ready to share some more of my tips for improving overall health and wellness through diet, simple living and budgeting. Over the past week or so I’ve found a VERY inexpensive hobby that not only saves money, but also takes up little space in your home and is a MAJOR stress reliever.  I decided to dabble in some sketching, and let me tell you, I’m addicted! I have found that not only does drawing take me to a place of total relaxation, but I’m pretty good at it.  It’s just pure fun and is a very calming activity.  Plus, being the minimalist that I am, I was pleased to find it requires very little supplies.  If you are considering taking on sketching, you will need a sketch pad and special drawing pencils.  I went to Michaels to purchase my materials and the bill came out to only $10 after using a coupon I found online (always check for coupons to save money).  In order to be frugal, I usually buy the cheapest materials, but I always consult with a sales associate to make sure I’m making a smart purchase.  Sometimes, it’s worth spending the extra few dollars for a higher quality product.  Once I obtained my supplies, I logged into my Pinterest account (a free website) and started searching under the phrase sketch steps.  Upon doing so, I discovered several drawing tutorials.  If you are unfamiliar with Pinterest, all you have to do is press the pin it button for the websites you are interested in saving to your personal page.  This will make it easier to go back and reference them at your convenience.  I’ve attached some of my very first drawings down below.  Not too shabby for a beginner. 🙂

Blessings, Kimberly Burkel
